Client: Lifeways Community Care

Project value: £432,000.

Timescale: 01/09/2015 to 22/12/2015.

Conversion of a single-story NHS doctor’s surgery into an eight bed special needs care home, staff offices and meeting room. Each flat consisting of bedroom, en-suite and kitchen diner was designed around the needs of service users who are both challenging to themselves and the environment.  The build contained all the usual elements of a full renovation i.e. structural works, windows, M&E installation, fire partitioning and interior finish. This project also incorporated a full scheme of assisted technology such as dementia lighting and monitoring, nurse call and staff attack systems, door access control and fire alarm systems, all monitored and controlled from the manager’s offices and a nurse work station. All these systems were designed, built and incorporated into the building to create a homely feel rather than a clinical environment.
